Another chance meeting...

I am sat on a train on my way back from London after collecting all of the donations from the Think 08 Ball – a massive, huge, monstrous, tremendous thank you to everyone who donated!

I want to tell you briefly about my journey up to London and another chance meeting with more amazing people – this kind of follows on from my last blog.

When you sit on a train there are many different types of people some that want to talk and some that don’t. I was sat at a table with 2 other people and they didn’t appear to want to talk much.

On the table next to me were two ladies and they were deep in conversation about issues of sustainability and in particular work with many different charities. It was most interesting so I had to butt in. We talked for the rest of the journey about all sorts of things including the launch of the Footprint Friends foundation and how it was the nominated charity partner for Think 08. I also mentioned that FootprintFriends.com had been mentioned in an article in today’s Guardian and I showed them a copy.

Then the lady who had been sat quietly next to me perked up and said that she had just read the article in the Guardian and offered us her copy – very kind, I thought and amazing that she had read about Footprint Friends! Then she had to get off as it was her stop.

We carried on our conversations… then as we arrived at London Waterloo and were exchanging details when another lady, who had been listening in, was so intrigued buy our conversations that she also gave us her details!!!

SO my point is that form just one train ride and making that first step it is possible to form new friendships and you just never know who you will be talking to next.
