    Keep your ideas coming

Because of the fibre shortenings, paper and card can only be recycled up to seven times, so how about on the last time, you take the dried, otherwise unuseable lumps of ex-paper and burn it in a combined, heat and power unit. Making use of a useless substance.Smile

great idea Smile and a very practical solution. I have written off to a number of paper recycling companies to get thier view - lets see if they think it is possible....

Ok ideas for new inventions..... what about solar kites so you could fly a kite and collect power while having fun...

Or white roof tiles so that our towns would reflect some of the suns rays...

The best ideas are the simple ones and the white roof concept is getting some press at the moment!!

'Using white materials on on top of buildings in the world's 100 largest cities would do more to counter planet-warming greenhouse-gas emissions, scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California, Berkeley say.

White roofs, a common feature on the Greek island of Santorini, have been used for thousands of years to reflect heat. Applying the method worldwide would cool surface temperatures, helping offset warming caused by carbon-dioxide emissions from factories and vehicles, the researchers said.'

CHP is snazzy! Conventional power stations produce heat as a by-product. They were throwing all that heat away. Now they kill two birds with one stone and sell the heat as they are Combined Heat and Power Unit!!!

Another new invention is a floor that generates electricity when you move on it. The crystals compressed together generate electricity!

Or school bags with a solar panel on and a hook up system so that bags could be put on a school solar capture hanger (would be cool in the shape of a tree) and the power could be used for a torch or a charger for a mobile.

Hey, Hey look what I found!!!

It's a solar panel on a back pack - and it really works...
