Just so that we can get things into perspective...

Did you know that 2,000,000 plastic bottles are discarded in the U.S every five minutes!!!

Americans purchased - not ganging up on the U.S here but these are the stats I've found which are really mind blowing! Anyway Americans purchased 28 billion single-serving bottles in 2007 and recycled only 20% of them and the rest went to landfill.

AND bottled water might just be one of the most needlessly wasteful products of modern times. It takes industry 3 gallons of water to produce only 1 gallon of bottled water (what a waste!) AND a lot of this water that ends up bottled comes from regular city water supplies.

PLEASE - campaign to bring back water fountains in schools and public areas and drink water from the tap. If you need a water bottle - get a reusable bottle and refill it.

Tell me everyone - do your schools have water fountains available to you?

Hiya. I suppose bottled water is ok as long as you recycle or reuse the bottle it comes in.

Swampy's idea about campaigning for fountains to be back in school is a good idea. As we used to have one outside but it got miss used and so it got taken away.

    Hi diddimonster!Smile

I wonder why the school had the fountain outside?Confused It would have been better where you have your lunches. Fresh water is so good when you're thirsty. Maybe someone will give it a thought and replace it...Hopefully!!

I have no idea either why it was outside. I suppose it was because it was by the football courts. and I suppose it was mainly for after P.E. and those who play football at lunch and break.

but sadly it is there no longer. [:'(]
