    Hi Jack,

If it is an Eco Council you want to set up this is how I went about it, or if it is energy savings in general you want to focus on just pick out some of the bits.

When I went to my headmistress about setting up an eco council I told her to get her interested that it would not cost the school anything in fact it would save the school money.

To start an Eco council you want a group of dedicated students into in climate change matters. Ideally two pupils from each year so the whole school can participate and all year groups all have someone representing them. Climate change is on the school cirriculum this year so most students will know what it is about.

I asked my headmistress about getting paper recycling bags in every classroom which we now have, aluminium recycling bins placed around the school; public areas etc, stickers on all light switches saying "switch me off", high visibilty poster campaign advertising ways to save energy at home and advertising eco counicl, I got the climate dome to visit my school see relevant forum, eco council weekly energy savings check around the school-to see where any savings can be made, or if everyone is is obeying the energy savings rules: lights off when no one is in the room, computer off standby, heating an air con is not on at the same time, draughts in classroom repaired, etc etc, Poster competition, address assemblies and staff to update them on schemes in place and what you are doing, possibly start a sustainable garden which is not only popular with pupils but parents and grandparents, organize fundraising for plans such as; raffles, bootsales, write to local businesses, sponsored walks/runs, events, I could go on and on but I reckon you have plenty to go on.

As for the monday event as far as I know they are unveiling the smart car with the winning logo on designed by Sally Gray which won a logo competitoion last year that I helped to judge.

And of course you will be revealed (so make sure you have clean socks and underwear on! )

    Stay cool Cool

    Cya tomorrow Big Smile

PS: Think you will get your champions badge tomorrow

    Your painted feet were billiant!

I haven't done mine because it's cold outside and my mother is not going to let me and paint into her nice clean house. Plus I had exams...yay...

Did you paint your own feet? I don't think i'd be able to twist around (i've never been a yoga fanatic) and make anything other than splodges at the same time (well, i suppose i could call it modern art).

    Re: cliamte change champions???

Cheers! I got my Mum to do my feet, took a lot of time as my feet are very ticklish, so in the end my Dad had to hold me down. The weirdest thing was I went out for a meal later, and didn't have time to wash it off, so went out with it painted on (dry by then), and when I got back England was in a terrible state (well on my feet anyway-the picture should be uploaded soon for those non climate champion). By the way, I received the email about writing new blogs and things, but can't seem to find it. Is it just me, or is anyone else finding the problem (Champs)
