Prince Charles looking for Climate Change Champions in companies...

    Hi Everyone,

What do you all think about this news, that Prince Charles is looking for Climate Change Champions in the companies across the UK? (http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5jPT0p3Lb-c16Ehjb3tGcM985nrww).

On the subject of Prince Charles - what are people's views - is he an environmental Hero?

Really good idea, but only if the different champions (including DEFRA's) could meet and discuss-communication is the key for cooperation, and cooperation + success! Also depends how Prince Charles is going to pick the champions, and from what companies.

Personally Prince Charles is an eco-champion, and though slightly out-spoken he's using his power to a gret effect.

P.S any luck with champions meeting him? Please say yes!  (You can tell I would love to meet him!)

I think that Prince Charles cares very deeply about the environment. Being such a high profile person, it must be difficult to make comment and urge action as there are always 'experts' that will find technical flaws in what is said often at the detriment of his best intention, Still, Prince Charles has a voice that is respected and he is passionate about these issues (so he's going to keep talking about them!) which can only be a heroic quality.

     In the news (BBC) today..

'The halting of logging in the world's rainforests is the single greatest solution to climate change,'  Prince Charles has said.

He called for a mechanism to be devised to pay poor countries to prevent them felling their rainforests.

The prince told the BBC's Today programme that the forests provided the earth's "air conditioning system".

He said it was "crazy" the rainforests were worth more "dead than alive" to some of the world's poorest people.

I live quite close to Poundbury (Prince Charles's Town) and it isn't all that green, not wind turbines or solar panels as they "don't look nice" (by the way, Poundbury is supposed to look really nice, you're not even allowed a cat flap as they look "bad"). But they are very good in that there is a better than average ammount of local employment and there are lots of small shops. Overall, Good, but could be better.Yes
