Yes because at 16 we are allowed to start making major descisions in our lives. I am nearly 16 and am on workexperiance and I feel the same as everyone around me and they can vote. I know when I finish my GCSE's I can make some big descisions and I think voting should be apart of it.

true. Good point, as we are allowed to make major decissions. So why can't we be apart of deciding how our country is run?

I agree with Shirley, if we can get legally leave school, get married and start a family then why can't we vote.

Having said this, I do understand how some 16-year olds might be immature or might not understand politics well so they might vote lightly and not really have a real opinion. Also, the two year from 'starting a life of our own' when we are 16 till when we are 18 and can vote might give us time to develop an opinion on politics if we did not already have one before so those votes would count more.

To be honest, I don't feel that strongly either way but I think that we should have some say in what is happening to the world seeing as we will be living in it for longer that those making the decisions.

    Sophie,
