Yes you're right Eco-Dude. Ethanol can be produced from biomass materials that contain sugars, starch or cellulose. The best known crop for producing ethanol is sugar cane. Other crops can be used but sugar cane is the best. The others require additional processing and so are more expensive Brazil has a big industry project that blends ethanol with petrol to run engines on. America uses maize as their bio-crop.Even though some petrol is  used the cars can be thought of as green as the petrol used is much much less. Cool

I heard on Top Gear that the Koenigsegg CCX will eventually be able to run on economic gas that is like 10 times cheaper!

And it is still amazingly fast!

    Re: Green Cars

I had a conversation recently with a man who deals in the supply of emergency energy - surprisingly it was very interesting Geeked no really.

He told me that our energy needs to be provided by many different sources as they all have their benefits. For example wind is not constant and it does not provide energy when we need it most like on cold still winters days.

However we could use wind power to generate hydrogen thorugh electrolisys which then can be stored and used in cars. Not entirly sure exactly how that happens but it sounds like part of the solution.

How else can you power a car?
