On yer Bike !

Just found out that the government and councils are to spend £100 million to make some of our cities more cycle friendly. I think this is great news it cuts car journeys so cutting co2 emissions, helps tackle the obesity problem, and improves everyones health.

I think the £10 fee should not apply to under 18's though.

I've been riding my bike more these days, when it is not raining.

What do you guys think of the plan?

Has any one been bike riding lately?

 I think that it should be £5 for under 16s and most young people own thier own bike, as there is no other way of going long-ish distances on roads. I always try ride my bike anywhere i go

 I try to ride my bike as much as possible. I even ride my bike into my work experience. (At footprint friends headquarters - of course)

yeh im with oli there as i ride with him into work experience. bit silly sometimes but all in the aid of being environmentally friendly

Really jealous that you get to work at Footprint Friends for your work experience and you cycle there too. It would be good to meet all of the team there.

Can't complain too much though because my work experience was the week in New York, couldn't exactly cycle there but I did walk most places.

Next week though I will be at the University of York for three days with my school. And that's one of the most cycle friendly cities in the country. http://www.york.gov.uk/cycling/
