    Hey Butterfingers95!

Well, a number of things. At the moment we're focusing on building the youth climate movement - which all of you are already part of! This year is especially important because the agreement that our politicians will make in Copenhagen this December.

So we've got a fantastic Youth Delegation who are going to all the UN climate meetings and making sure that our youth voice is heard. At Copenhagen they'll be doing lots of media coverage and getting as many young people emailing their MPs, writing to local papers and organising events to prove that we want a better future!

We're also organising Power Shift - which will be the largest youth climate event in British history! Check out the links below on how to be invovled : )

    Hello The_Chocholic_Gerbil!

Well you've already done one of the key things in campaigning - figure out whose decision you need to change.

First thing you might want to do is get public attention to the issue. The school and the council are not going to listen one person on their own - you need to prove that all your friends and peers agree that this is a silly waste!

How about organising a dump in a specific place of all the waste that gets thrown away every day - get the local paper to come and cover it - have all your mates collect signatures and send them to the council? (make sure you clean up all the waste for the photos afterwards!)

Get teachers to support your campaign too, and ask the school to change providers if the council don't listen!

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

    Hey diddimonster!

How about organising a massive foot-painting party one afternoon after school? Ask a teacher to help organise and deck out a classroom with newspaper and paints. Maybe someone could give a talk on a topic related to climate change? People will be queueing to sign-up after that!

    Re: Welcome Casper

    Hi louton,

Well - the great thing is that all these issues are connected, and if you manage to do something good for one (packaging for example), it is good for the others (climate change and clean oceans) too!

One of the rules of campaigning is to do things that you are passionate about and that you can change. As young people - we have massive influence on our families and schools, so how about doing a check in every home in your street if they have good insulation (which means we don't have leaky homes, keeps people warm and comfortable without extra carbon and bills - mum and dad will love that!).

Or something about cycling access to school? Or recycling, or understanding climate change, or collecting signatures telling your MP that they should do more on the environment, or a film night with movies that are about climate change?

I hope that gives you some ideas!
