Patio heaters emit too much CO2

The energy saving trust has urged retailers to stop selling the heaters as they use the same amount of energy in six months as a kitchen gas hob does in a year. What do you think ?

Instead of the patio heaters why don't we dress sensably wearing jumpers, coats we can be warm and stay outside!

wow do they really emit that much CO2?! Gosh, i don't really see the point in those heaters, just dress sensibly and keep warm and you should be fine. Some of the heaters don't work that well anyway so what's the point?

ive never heard of patio heaters...

They are big metal posts that go in your patio and they provide a lot of heat

Patio heaters use an awful lot of power, hence CO".

Most of them burn gas but I have also seen a lot of electric ones. Basically they are stupid because they are heating areas outside!

If you are outside and you are cold put a coat on! or don't go out side.

The heat form the patio heaters is lost directly into the atmosphere. It is not so much that the heat its self will increase global warming its the energy used as well. Its a bit like leaving all you heating at home and your oven on all evening and opening all the windows and doors! crazy

I love being outside - I love having a snug jumper or coat on and being outside...

what about air conditioning? dont they use similar energy to heaters?

Hmm well I have found out that heaters use a lot more because they are not only blowing out air but they have to heat the air using more electrisity

hmmm... what about heaters in the side of swimming pools? what do they use?

I think swimming pool heaters are more likely to use elctricity. But i don't know for certain.

 Whats the point in patio heaters???? You are basically trying to heat the whole atmosphere by using one! Its a waste of gas and emits loads of carbon dioxide. Why cant people just put jumpers on instead!!!!

Agreed! Isn't is funny how some things that once seemed quite cool - like heated garden patios are now simply vulgar and wholly inappropriate. Me thinks that there is an awful lot of stuff that we don't need and are harmful to the environment.
