    Re: Hot Places

Yeh it's a good idea to have the most solar panels in the hottest places and then surely if there is enough electricty should be spread throughout the world. This would indeed help the world crisis as a lot of electricity nowadays is made from non renewable sources.

    A good idea!

if it's a hot place, then why don't they set up some solar panels instead of oil rigs?

What did they adult chimney say to the baby chimney? You're too young to smoke.

    Re: Hot Places

Solar pannels in hot places would reduce the number of power stations they would need in those countries so reducing the carbon emissions as they would where ever in the world they were used.

Solar pannels can also help countries such as in Africa to have access to electricity because the cost is only to buy and install the solar pannel. I know this can be expensive but as part of charity work in addition to providing clean water supplies to a village they could install a small number of solar pannels to provide electricity to the village to allow them to access some of the basics we have (eg boiling water in a kettle).Coffee

The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world and could have 'ice-free' summers as early as 2013! This year the Northwest Passage will be navigational for the first time!

    Re: Hot Places

Why use electricity to boil water in a kettle when they could use solar energy to heat the water?? For example include a water pipe around the edge of the solar panel with a concave lense in front to intensify the light beam and that way warm up the water...

Just an idea but maybe it wil work better than a kettle that uses soo much more electricity than the sun lol Big Smile

But yeh solar pannels could alse be used for providing heat.
