Olympics 2008

China are hosting this year's Olympic Games, what do you think about the way that they have prepared for them?

The opening ceremony was AMAZING!

I'm gonna stick my neck out here.

One of the things we studied at school was the Olympics and as far as I was aware it is not supposed to be a political affair. It was actually used to halt wars and upheval and bring people together.

It is just our modern world where money is so important that hosting the Olympics can be a massive financial benefit. 

Lots of bad stuff has happend in China and there is no arguing about that. You can google it to find out more...

The olympics should be a time for world unitity and sporting competition - We should promote sport and all its benifits - and guess what excersise is actually good for your body and mind!!

What are your views?

 I agree, the opening ceremony was fantastic!

The Olympics should be used to promote sport and not politics, but it is worth thinking whether China was the best candidate as host because of their human rights abuse?

How cool is this?

The opening fireworks were computer enhanced to make them look better on the TV  - now that has to be better for the environment doesn't it?

(admitidly in the same story they had a girl miming the opening ceremony song but I was more interested in the fake fireworks)
