wind power isn't the only renewable source

on several scottish islands, there is a LOT of wind reaching many miles per hour. if the islanders and the scottish government harnessed that power, it would provide most of England, Scotland and Wales with electricity and be a wonderful renewable and eco friendly source for electricity. however, the islanders disagree with the scottish government that this would be beneficial and say it would ruin their island. i agree with them but it could be just as easy to build off-shore wind turbines for use. Gordon Brown has proposed the same thing for most of England. but why not use other renewable technologies to our advantage, such as tidal power or wave power? they could be used as easily as wind power, just using water, and since we live on an island we have plenty of that surrounding us.

    Hi jakey1234 love the teeth!

On radio this morning I heard that as the reservoirs are so full they are considering generatng electricity from hydro power more. As our weather has been wetter this seems to be a good idea. Even though we've had more rain the night time temperatures are not colder. This is how  climate change is affecting us. Hmm On the Isle of Wight, even though tidal turbines and offshore wind farms have been promised Only onshore wind farms sites are suggested, lots of them.
