We have a recycling box-thing in every classroom and at the end of every week, it is emptied into the large Green bin outside.

I don't know the exact details of where it goes after that...

We should do more for the planet at our school >.<

They always have the lights on when they don't need to.

i think schools should have paper recycling boxes in every classrooms...and also in the kitchens they should recycle all the packaging that they get from all the food, such as the tins and cardboard boxes.

    Hi,

Just seen this post and just had to reply.

Right at Wildern School we have a group, which I am lucky to be apart of, which meets regularly every fortnight to discuss environmental issues in the school. We also have a school council which I am a part of also which adds ideas to this. Recently we have introduced the idea of implementing recycling into our school and our main objective is to half the amount of waste which goes out through the normal rubbish bins. We are also, like said above, putting boxes for recycling paper into every classroom which are being supplied by our local council who provide recycling.

I am relieved to hear that other schools in the country do this aswell.

i think my school has no recycling system, but i could ask one of the staff and they could report back to the head. i hope our school has a recycling system in a few years time.Big Smile

DO IT! Talk to your teachers or even speak direct to your head teacher. Yes

They need to recycle NOW not in a couple of years. There are other VIPs on Footprint Friends who have also implemented a recycling system at their school. Indifferent

Talk to your teachers, show them this site and get them involved. They can contact us at feet@footprintfriends.com if they have any questions or want to run a foot session like you attended at Stevenage.

Good on you - love to see your amazing amount of posts! Fantastic!

Our school is pretty slow as well. :/

We use so much paper at our school for stupid little things like newsletters. They have a school website; why not put it on there? It saves paper, which saves trees, which overall helps our environment!

I 100% agree. I think that all notices should go onto school websites - this would help so much because Newsletters get lost at the bottom of school bags and are out of date by the time they surface anyway.
