  • Re: wind farms

To all those who dislike wind turbines... SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE Earth is running out of fossil fuels (not to mention nuclear fuels which will be gone in about eight years) and our planet is choking to death. If you live in some Yorkshire valley and are campaigning against wind turbines please identify...

  • Re: The 'cost' of Biofuels

Did you know Germany has the most PV solar panels out of any country in the world- they have made solar panels economically viable, so lots of people are buying into the idea. If they can do it, why can't the UK? Also microgeneration is great- when homes/businesses generate their own power, using...

  • Re: "Super" Markets

I have a feeling that super markets a nd indeed other big companies don't take the steps they tell us to, to protect our planet, because it costs to much! i think this is a pityfull excuse. they value money more than our future generations! How much extra would it cost if they did turn to alternative...

In terms of efficiency, an exercise bike would be better than a treadmill. This would help solve time problems.

Although Bio fuel sounds like a fantastic idea in principle, it will start to compete with food production, driving up the cost of food in poorer countries. This will cause death from famine on an amazingly large scale. 1000 lives in the 3rd world or a motor race? Your choice...

  • Re: wind farms

Some people see wind turbines as beautiful things because they are doind a beautiful thing, if they were a nuclear weapon launch unit, few, if any people would tolerate them. As it is, wind farms look like one of the ways forward in the battle against climate change, even if theymay be a blot on a nice...

  • wind farms

one of the big issues of erecting wind farms is the fact that they arent to "easy on the eye" many people beleive that putting up these montrous creatings will affect the view ,of the area they've been put in, in a bad way. what do you think? do they look good? should the view suffer for...

  • Re: ‘Drive’ down carbon emissions!

Motor bikes are dangerous! They are smaller and take uo less space on the road but what if everyone had one the amount of bikes on the road would increase makeing the road more dangerous! You need a car to hold all the shoppping a bike is not created to hold anything else other than one or two people...

  • Re: Formula one, Formula GONE!....

Welcome to Footprint friends Betty Boo :) I would say you are spot on about the rejection. Motor sport is a huge sport which has lots of money involved in it. Alternative fules would be great but it would have to be introduced in the right way. maybe they should start off by making sure their emissions...
  • Re: Formula one, Formula GONE!....

I see your point. I don't know how much motor sports contribute to carbon emissions, but perhaps alternative fuels could be used. If sports cars used greener fuels then people may realise that they don't have to sacrifice petrol for performance. There could be a ripple effect that encourages...
