Footprint Friends joins Ed Miliband at Copenhagen-rally in Shoreditch

Ed Miliband, the Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change, hosted a public rally on Thursday 22 October in Shoreditch, East London, to give an update, and take questions, on the current state of negotiations in the lead to Copenhagen. We took a team to get involved and learn more about the plans for Copenhagen.

Joan Ruddock MP, Minister for Climate Change, Biodiversity and Waste, said:

It is inspiring to see young people from all over the world exchanging ideas and views on how we can combat the threat of climate change.

One of the DEFRA Climate Champions, Hayleigh, was lucky enough to have a audience with Hilary Benn - Secretary of State for the Environment - and got to ask him some searching questions.

Ok we did not get Hilary to paint his foot this time, may be next time...

We went to an event in London earlier this year (Think 08) and our founder, Karen, asked a question during the conference; Hilary Benn answered the question and spoke about his meeting with Hayleigh - well done Hayleigh!!!

Adam, who is one of the DEFRA Climate champs, contacted Emma Thompson to get her involved with Footprint Friends.

Emma has been in loads of films - you may recognise her from HARRY POTTER and the prisioner of azkaban, or NANNY MCPHEE (which emma wrote), or STRANGER THAN FICTON (PG 13)

Emma kindly sent back this photo of her in her bath with a painted foot!
